TrendAI Malaysia has called for stronger cybersecurity measures across Malaysia’s critical infrastructure as Budget 2027 places greater emphasis on data protection, online fraud prevention and national digital security.
Managing director Goh Chee Hoh said initiatives involving the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to advance local data protection technology would help strengthen Malaysia’s digital sovereignty.
He said protecting the country’s 11 National Critical Information Infrastructure (NCII) sectors and combating online fraud reflected a shift towards preventing cyber threats before they disrupt essential services and operations.
Goh added that cooperation between the government, critical sector operators and industry partners would be necessary to strengthen protection across the digital ecosystem.
As organisations implement the Cyber Security Act 2024, he said compliance with requirements such as mandatory risk assessments and real-time incident reporting would be important in maintaining financial and operational stability.
Goh said TrendAI would continue supporting Malaysia’s digital transformation through threat intelligence, proactive risk management and alignment with government cybersecurity policies.
He added that embedding cyber resilience into national security planning would be essential to protecting Malaysia’s digital economy as it expands regionally and globally.
