Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur invites guests to partake in an extravagant Deepavali celebration, featuring a curated selection of traditional Indian delicacies that embody the vibrant spirit of the festival. From October 28 to 31, the hotel’s Lemon Garden will serve a sumptuous Deepavali Buffet Dinner, allowing diners to indulge in an array of exquisite dishes.
Under the guidance of Chef De Cuisine Mohd Safee, Lemon Garden offers a diverse buffet experience, highlighting freshly prepared options from various live cooking stations. Guests can enjoy Western dishes such as roast meats and artisanal cheeses, alongside a seafood station showcasing fresh lobsters, crabs, and sashimi. The Asian theatre kitchen presents local Malay specialties, including rendang and dim sum, while the dessert pavilion features treats like waffles, crepes, and a cascading chocolate fountain.
The Deepavali buffet will include traditional appetizers like Samosa Chaat and Aloo Chana Salad, as well as the crispy Dhai Puri. Tandoori lovers can delight in dishes such as Murgh Tangdi Kebab and Prawn Shashlik, served with freshly baked tandoori breads.
A standout dish is the Lamb Shank Dum Biryani, made with saffron-flavored basmati rice layered with tender lamb shank. The meal is complemented by a selection of poppadums and chutneys, including Mango and Coconut Chutney.
To satisfy sweet cravings, the buffet will feature traditional desserts such as Rasmalai and Jalebi.
Prices for the buffet experience are RM178 nett for lunch and RM198 nett for dinner.
