Rocket Software Launches Rocket® Secure Host Access To Enhance Mainframe Security

Rocket Software, a leader in modernisation software, has launched Rocket® Secure Host Access, a terminal emulator prioritising security by integrating green screen access with existing identity and access management (IAM) solutions. This new product aims to provide robust protection against cyber threats, including phishing attacks and fake workers, while ensuring compliance with evolving regulations.

Rocket Secure Host Access offers features such as multi-factor authentication (MFA), single sign-on (SSO), and other advanced security protocols. It helps businesses protect critical systems and meet compliance requirements, including the Digital Operational Resilience Act, 23 NYCRR Part 500, and the US federal mandate on MFA.

Puneet Kohli, President of Application Modernisation at Rocket Software, stated, “Regulatory requirements are becoming more stringent and costly, while cyber-threat complexity continues to accelerate demanding additional protections.” The solution provides centrally managed, high-availability host application access, deployable in the cloud or on-premises, to safeguard applications and simplify regulatory compliance.

The product’s key benefits include simplified security integration, cost-effective risk mitigation, and a future-ready IT security strategy. Chris Drake, Senior Research Director at IDC, highlighted the importance of integrating modern security practices like MFA and SSO into legacy systems, noting, “Rocket Secure Host Access provides an easy way for mainframe organisations to integrate green screen login authentication into their IAM solution.”

Rocket Secure Host Access joins Rocket Software’s broader Security and Compliance portfolio, alongside products like Rocket® z/Assure® Vulnerability Analysis Program and Rocket® Data Recovery Manager, reinforcing its commitment to mainframe security.
