Tan Sri Vincent Tan Chee Yioun has increased his aggregate interest in 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Bhd to 21.312% following a series of direct business transactions involving 31.71 million shares.
7-Eleven Malaysia said Vincent Tan acquired 21.6 million shares directly on Oct 5 through Kenanga Nominees (Tempatan) Sdn Bhd.
On the same day, two entities in which he has deemed interests disposed of shares. U Telemedia Sdn Bhd sold 6.11 million shares, while Hotel Resort Enterprise Sdn Bhd disposed of another four million shares.
Taking the three transactions together, his aggregate direct and deemed shareholding increased by approximately 11.49 million shares.
Following the transactions, Vincent Tan holds a direct interest of 192.36 million shares, or 17.345%, and an indirect or deemed interest of 43.99 million shares, or 3.967%.
His combined interest therefore stands at 236.36 million shares, representing 21.312% of 7-Eleven Malaysia.
His deemed interests are held through several companies, including Berjaya Bright Sdn Bhd, Taktik Nostalgia Sdn Bhd, Berjaya Retail Sdn Bhd, Berjaya Infra Sdn Bhd, U Telemedia and Hotel Resort Enterprise.
The notice of the shareholding changes was dated Oct 5 and received by the company on Oct 7.
