RON95, RON97 Petrol Prices Rise 15 Sen

Unsubsidised RON95 and RON97 petrol prices will rise by 15 sen per litre from Oct 8 to Oct 14, as tighter global supplies of refined petroleum products keep fuel prices elevated.

The Finance Ministry said RON97 will increase to RM5.15 per litre from RM5, while unsubsidised RON95 will rise to RM4.67 per litre from RM4.52.

The unsubsidised diesel price will remain unchanged at RM5.27 per litre.

The ministry said global crude oil prices remain high despite improving flows from West Asia, with Brent crude hovering around US$100 per barrel during the Automatic Pricing Mechanism calculation period.

Price pressure has also shifted towards refined petroleum products after China suspended a large portion of its fuel exports for October, tightening international supply.

Meanwhile, subsidised fuel prices for eligible users remain unchanged. BUDI95 recipients will continue paying RM1.99 per litre for RON95, while BUDI Diesel users will pay RM2.10 per litre.

The government said domestic fuel supplies remain adequate, although geopolitical developments in West Asia and the Russia-Ukraine conflict continue to pose risks to global supply and prices.
